BE-Rural will organise a three-day summer school for teachers interested in developing curricula and educational material on the bioeconomy. The summer school will primarily be targeted at teachers in the five innovation regions (Vidzeme and Kurzeme in Latvia; Szczecin and Vistula Lagoons in Poland; Covasna in Romania; Stara Zagora in Bulgaria; and Strumica in North Macedonia), but other attendees are welcome.
The summer school will be run by Dr Elsa João from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland and will have the participation of the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC).
Although the expectation is that all people will attend all three days, it is possible that some attendees may attend just one or two of the days. Attendees should indicate which days they will attend when registering for the summer school.
The educational material from the summer school is available here (under ‘Educational Material’) and form a resource for teachers and other interested parties.

Aim of the summer school: In order to facilitate further learning and wider multiplier effects (i.e. reaching a wider audience than those attending individual events), BE-Rural organises a summer school for teachers interested in developing curricula and educational material on the bioeconomy. The summer school was primarily targeted at teachers from BE-Rural’s OIP regions, but participation was open to teachers from other regions and countries. The summer school included both theoretical and practical elements, with presentations from practitioners.
