Educational events were organised in each innovation region on the broad theme of ‘Sustainability and the Bioeconomy’, focused on school/college/university pupils/students and/or teachers. The specific focus of these events was tailored to the interests and needs of each region, both in terms of sub-themes, and in terms of target group e.g. age group, educational level, and students/pupils and/or teachers.

In order to achieve this, materials relevant to specific regions and in national language was produced and training events were held by local experts.
